Cara Macari has spent her 15 year career doing what she loves most, working in the Fitness and Advertising industries. After Graduating with honors from Syracuse University where she majored in Psychology and Marketing, she furthered her education at The University of Miami where she studied Exrecise Science and sports marketing. She began her professional career as both a strength and conditioning specialist for elite athletes and as a personal trainer for The Fitness company, where she would spend the next 6 years of her career. She and others she worked with quickly learned that she had a knack for inspiring both the elite athlete and the inactive to uncover their goals and achieve them. From the position of trainer she quickly moved into membership sales, general manager, regional marketing director and finally National Marketing Director of the Fitness Company where she oversaw the branding, marketing strategies and implementation for nearly 90 clubs in 12 states.

Her career then expanded to marketing and sales positions outside the fitness industry where she gained valuable advertising, media and creative experience at the nations leading media corporations; Viacom, ClearChannel Communications and CondeNast. She has worked on media campaigns for brands including: Pepsi, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Reebok and Nike. She and her husband now own and operate running specialty stores, Urban Athletics in New York City. They were recently named Shecky’s “Best Running Shoe Stores” in New York City.

As an accomplished distance runner, Cara’s personal zest for health and fitness along with her vast marketing experience have come together enabling her to have a clear vision of how to build strong brands in the fitness industry, as well as how to effectively communicate them. Those who work with her say she has laser like vision, always keeping her eye on her goals coupled with creative thinking, consistently developing new ways to achieve them. Cara currently lives in New York City with her husband.
